My Brothers' Keepers #1

Let's discuss the Civil War this week. Even though this war took place almost 150 years ago, it is still a hot topic. Many of the issues that led to the war continue to effect our political life: states' rights, human rights, racism, etc. Describe one of these issues. Tell what it means to you and how it relates to the Civil War.

As always, be sure to proofread! Make sure your ideas are clearly expressed, including correct punctuation and capitalization.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday with your families!

"Thanksgiving"

The year has turned its circle,
The seasons come and go.'

The harvest all is gathered in

And chilly north winds blow.

Orchards have shared their treasures,

The fields, their yellow grain,

So open wide the doorway~

Thanksgiving comes again!

Thankfulness

This week I would like each of you to discuss the following in a 3 to 5 sentence paragraph.

Thanksgiving is a family time, yet families celebrate in different ways just as families are different. Describe your family's traditions whether that means eating out or having a family gathering or traveling. Some families always watch a parade or a football game; some decorate for Christmas (not me!). Some attend a prayer service. How do you spend the day? How do you show your thankfulness?

Among the Hidden #3

Some of you still need to be more careful about punctuation and capitalization. Also, be complete with your answers to the questions. In most cases, these questions require a short paragraph to give a complete answer!

1. Explain why the government made pets illegal. Also, tell why this could have made pets extinct if not for the Barons.

2. Describe how you feel about the Population Law. How is it a good idea? What are the problems with it? Would you be effected by the law if it were in effect in the United States? How?

Here we go again..

Kentucky Down Under

In October, we spent the day at Kentucky Down Under in Horse Cave, Kentucky. This is my homeroom enjoying each other and nature.

We enjoyed the aviary; although, for the first time ever, I had a bird gnawing on my wrist!

These photos are courtesy of Jessica's mom. We had a great day!

Just a few more to go
